New to Canberra?
Lately, Canberra has been staking a claim for the title of 'coolest little capital' – and we’re not just talking winter temperatures. Where else could you chill out in with fresh ground coffee, before spotting kangaroos in the capital’s reserves then taking in some of the nation’s best culture?....
During parliamentary sitting weeks, the city buzzes with national politics. When not talking policy, the city’s developing a reputation for its festivals – the legendary Floriade, National Folk Festival, Balloon Spectacular, Enlighten and Canberra Writers Festival. - Lonely Planet
St John's is situated on Anzac Parade in the heart of the Nation's capital. You will find people from all over Canberra at St John's. Why? Because, unlike other capital cities, there is little traffic congestion in Canberra, especially on a Sunday! In fact, it usually only takes around 30 minutes to get from one side of Canberra to the other.
St John’s church, which was consecrated in 1845, is alive in the twenty-first century with people of all ages. Our vision is to be 'a vibrant Christ-centred community that engages and transforms the heart and soul of Canberra'.
We would value the opportunity to get to know you and make you feel welcome. We're also open daily for you to get in touch with Canberra's early history by visiting the Church, Churchyard and Schoolhouse Museum.
