Lent

The 40 days of Lent - which began on Ash Wednesday 6 March - are a time of preparation for Easter. It recalls the forty days that Jesus spent in the wilderness.

Many people set themselves a specific Lenten 'discipline' – e.g. they join a Lent study group, read a book, study the Scriptures on a daily basis, set aside more time for prayer or recommit themselves to weekly worship.
