St John’s Anglican church (1841), which dates back to the earliest days of European settlement in this area, is alive in the twenty-first century with people of all ages. We look forward to welcoming you to our worship, community life and other activities. The church is open daily for prayer, reflection and visitors.

Step back to the days of slate boards, slate pencils, blackboards, chalk and inkwells at the St John’s Schoolhouse Museum.


In October 2019 the 1960's asbestos roof tiles on St John's church (1841) were replaced with Welsh slate. The church continues to be a symbol of faith and hope in our Canberra community. We invite you to help preserve St John's church for future generations.  MORE...
