The history of St John's Churchyard by Jean Salisbury

Past reflections

We must have a sense of mission

"On Thursday evening, 21 Juy 1960, the first of what he hoped would be a series of parish family gatherings was held in the Parish Centre..... Archdeacon Hill reminded those  present that Anglicans tended to be like individual eggs in a basket, when they should be an omelette.  He hoped that these parish gatherings would prove to be the 'Mixmaster which makes the omelette out of the eggs'.

Before the second gathering on 22 September 1960, he wrote:

We need to feel our fellowship more and more.  We must not be content just to worship together.  Rather we must have a sense of mission.  We must know where we are going and then go on our way together. "
