Altar Linen Group
Bell Ringing
St John's has a fine set of bells. Mondays at 5.30 p.m. is when the bellringers practice in the belltower.
Brass Polishing
Enjoy the shining brass on Sunday even more if you have cleaned it! We have a small group of people who assist monthly. Have you an hour to spare? Come and join us.
Cuppacumalong
Cuppa Comalong is for anyone from St John's, St Peter's, St Andrew's and Fairlight. We meet on the fourth Monday in each month in the Robertson Room from 2.00 p.m. - 4 p.m. Its aim is to get together, enjoy afternoon tea and get to know each other. New people are particularly welcome.
St John's Meditation Group
The St John's meditation group meets each Wednesday from 5.30 to 6.30pm in the nave of the church. Through meditation (in the tradition of John Main) we seek to deepen our understanding of God and of prayer.
Fair Committee
Flower Guild
Loose tension and relax while arranging our Church flowers. No formal training is necessary and assistance is provided. New recruits are always welcome.
Grumpy Old Men
Grumpy Old Men is a bunch of blokes who get together irregularly on Tuesdays at various cafes for an eclectic mixof coffee, laughter and good conversation. We aim to solve all the world's problems sometime soon. All Grumpy Old Men are welcome.
Hospitality Group
The Hospitality Group is a group of ladies who cater for various functions, such as refreshments after funerals, for specific special services and afternoon teas for various occasions. Helpers are always welcome.
Sacristan & Sanctuary Team
We serve usually once a month in the Sanctuary and with training we learn to assist the priests in all aspects of the service.
Sidespersons
Sidespersons welcome and distribute hymnbooks etc. to the congregation as they enter and leave the church. The ministry of welcoming and hospitality is an important ministry withing the life of our faith community.
Working Bee Group
Churchyard Working Bees meet on the first Saturday in every month at 9.30 a.m. The main jobs are raking, tidying and weeding. All are welcome, if possible with own gardening equipment. Morning tea is provided.
