The Rev’d Paul Black, Rector, came to the parish from Melbourne in January 2008. St John’s College, Morpeth (in the Diocese of Newcastle) is where he did his theological training. He was ordained deacon and priest by the Bishop of Rockhampton in 1986 and 1987. Rev’d Paul gives thanks for the many people and faith communities that have nurtured and challenged him on the journey of life.

The Rev’d Margaret Campbell, Associate Priest, has lived in Canberra since the 1970s, and came to St Johns as deacon in Jan 2008. She did her theological training at St Mark’s National Theological College, Canberra and was ordained priest in November 2008. Margaret takes heart from knowing that meeting Jesus takes a moment, and learning to be his disciple takes a lifetime.

The Rev’d Vicky Cullen, Honorary Priest. Vicky was ordained deacon in 1988 and priest in 1992. She has been a spiritual director for more than 20 years. She trained at the Australian Catholic University and did further training in Melbourne as a supervisor of spiritual directors. She loves teaching adults, providing spiritual direction and running Wild Honey Spirituality Centre.

The Rev’d David Hill, Honarary Priest, is the son of Archdeacon Hill who was the Rector of St John’s in the 1960′s and early 1970′s. He served as a Naval Chaplain for almost twenty years and left the RAN as a Senior Chaplain in order to return to the Diocese as Rector of Moruya in 1995. In 2003 he was appointed Rector of Young District Anglican Ministry and Archdeacon of the Western Region and in 2004 was appointed Archdeacon of Rural and Regional Ministry. He retired from full-time Ministry and joined the staff of St John’s in 2007.

Sheila Thomson, OAM, Director of Music, has a performance degree in pipe organ from the Canberra School of Music. She is a teacher of piano and organ and is one of the conductors of the local U3A choir. On Australia Day 2012 she was awarded an Order of Australia in the General Division for the service to the community as a church organist and musical director.
