St John's alive with people
St John's Church (consecrated in 1845) is one of Canberra's treasures. Its ambience, pipe organ, bells, stained glass windows and other works of art enhance our worship and spiritual lives. But most of all it is alive with the people that make St John's what it is today.
We are part of the Anglican Communion within the world wide Christian Church. We believe that the Christian faith has profound things to offer people who are searching and take seriously the desire of people to search, question and enquire.
Our ministries include St John's Care which offers practical support to all in need. It is one way we put our faith into work and concrete action. Our hope is this website will give you a sense of who we are as Anglican Christians as we seek to proclaim Christ in the heart of our nation's capital.
The Church is open daily and we invite you to come in and experience its beauty, peace, holiness and sacred space. For more information about our parish, its centres at Wamboin and Sutton, its history and heritage, go to the links above.
