We invite you to share our faith and community life
St John’s Church (consecrated in 1845) ambience, pipe organ, bells, stained glass windows and other works of art enhance our worship and spiritual lives.
We are part of the Anglican Communion within the world wide Christian Church. We believe that the Christian faith has profound things to offer people who are searching and take seriously the desire of people to search, question and enquire.
Our ministries include St John’s Care which offers practical support to all in need. It is one way we put our faith into work and concrete action. Our hope is this website will give you a sense of who we are as Anglican Christians as we seek to proclaim Christ in the heart of our nation’s capital.
We invite you to ‘come and see’ if St John’s is a fit for you!
The Church is open daily and we invite you to come and experience its history, beauty and peace. While the most important meaning of the Church is ‘the people of God’, Church buildings themselves are places where God can be experienced.
